WhatsApp to Introduce Message Editing – AllBusinessAnalysis

WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform, is set to introduce a new message-editing feature for iPhone users. This news was first reported by WABetaInfo, which noted that the most recent beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone includes the capability to edit messages for a select number of individuals.

To use this feature, users simply need to press a message and tap the “Edit” button, which functions similarly to the feature already included in the Android beta. However, WhatsApp has decided to impose certain limitations on users’ ability to edit delivered messages, unlike Telegram.

For example, after a message has been sent, users will only have 15 minutes to change it. This strategy is similar to iMessage, which also imposes a 15-minute time limit for message editing. This feature will only display an “edited” label on messages that have been edited by the sender, in contrast to iMessage, which displays a history of revisions to other users. In this instance, the strategy is more similar to Telegram’s.

It’s important to note that the edit feature will only apply to text messages and will not apply to captions for images, videos, or documents. This feature is still in beta testing, and there are no specifics on the release date for this feature on WhatsApp. However, the official rollout may happen very soon, given that the feature was just made available to WhatsApp beta users for the iPhone.

In related news, WhatsApp is also working on a new newsletter feature for communities. Although there are no details available yet, this feature is likely meant to be an extension of the Communities function. The newsletter feature will allow communities to send newsletters to their members and keep them updated with the latest news and developments.
